Report of the Union/Management Relations Committee
National Board of Directors Meeting
September 2010

The Committee discussed local concerns and agreed to share ideas to help them at the local and regional levels. The Chair commented that a Labour management portal would be opened on the website to share ideas, problems and victories.

On the issue of Terms of reference, the importance of Terms of reference has been highlighted recently through strategic review. No consultation took place on strategic review, we were briefed and that’s it. While we don’t suggest that signed Terms of reference would have changed the course of history, it would have provided a vehicle for us to present more opposition. The Chair committed to presenting a more in depth verbal report on the issue and its evolution since last reporting period.

The Chair thanked Brother Baizana and Committee Members for their continued work and committed to sharing information throughout the process.
