You will recall that when we met on February 26th, you made a statement to the effect that the Customs Act does not currently allow for the creation of a border patrol. We disagreed and pointed to the fact that we have been provided with a legal opinion that states otherwise. The below link takes you to the November 2006 CIU (then CEUDA) Secure Border Action Plan which was presented to the Minister as well as to Parliamentary Committees at the time.
